CliniCASA’s mission is to activate underserved communities in El Salvador so that they can identify their health and education needs and take shared responsibility for meeting those needs.
CliniCasa is a non-profit organization, headquartered in Boston, MA. USA, and we have been working El Salvador, Central America in rural communities since 1998. The organization was founded by Ambrosio Flores and Diane Chase.
To date CliniCASA has accomplished the following projects: created a water well for a village, built a classroom and revamped the local economy by financing a small bakery. We have donated computers to rural schools and built latrines for schools.
CliniCASA works by organizing the community and identifying leaders. Our motto is "ayuda mutual y esfuerzo propio" which means that CliniCASA works with the community to help strengthen their ability to solve their own problems. The community idendifies a need, and working with CliniCASA develops a budget, and agrees to a contract. CliniCASA may provide 10% of the budget for materials but the community provides the skills, labor and some resources to complete the project.
