The regional high school that provides education for 700 students in Ciudad Barrios needed classroom space for 100 new students. The school land was limited so new classrooms had to be in 2 stories, one on top of the other. Together under the direction of CliniCASA’s engineer and with CliniCASA support, the teachers and students helped to construct the classrooms by collecting bamboo for the frame, mixing and hauling buckets full of cement for the floors, digging holes for the support beams.
CliniCASA has produced a video that shows how an enthusiastic group of teachers, students, and parents worked together to build two classrooms These 2 new classrooms actually belong to the teachers and students and they are proud of their work and the school.
